A Proud History
Steeped in history, celebrated Fernhill Estate is located on one of the area’s first land grants. It was issued in 1810 by Governor Macquarie to Colonial Magistrate William Cox, whose family had a major influence on the settlement of Western Sydney. The property has a rich equestrian history, having produced winners of the Melbourne Cup in both 1877 (Chester) and 1880 (Grand Flaneur).
Magnificent in stature, the grand homestead was built by 20 skilled Irish stonemasons and over the years it has been painstakingly restored to its former glory. Taking advantage of a range of income-generating opportunities, Fernhill Estate also includes potential to create a restaurant (with approval).
